What phone sex jobs pay

You are paid by the platform, not by the caller. Most adult phone lines pay per minute of connected talk time, some pay an hourly rate for a booked shift, and some combine a base rate with a bonus for call length or repeat callers. The rate is set by the line operator and should be shown to you in writing before you take your first call, along with when you are paid and how.

Because pay is per minute, earnings depend on how many hours you log in, when you log in and how long your callers stay on the line. Operators who work the evening peaks, build regulars and keep calls going earn more than those who dip in for an hour in the afternoon. Premium-rate lines in the UK are regulated, and the companies that run them have to make sure everyone on the phones is an adult and that the service is run within the rules. Properly run lines route calls so the caller never sees your number; if a line asks you to call customers back from your own phone or to give out your number, do not. Callers will ask where you live, what you look like and what your real name is. Have a persona with answers ready, and never give a real detail: not your town, your workplace, your surname or your social media.

Keep a separate email address and, if you can, a separate phone or SIM for the work. Do not take calls anywhere you can be overheard by children or by housemates who have not agreed to it. If a caller becomes abusive, end the call; every reputable line has a way to end and report a call, and you should use it.

If a line, or anyone claiming to recruit for one, asks you to meet in person, send photos, move to a private messaging app or hand over money, walk away. Phone work is voice only. Anything else is a different job, or a scam.
